Project Life again!

I thought I would share another PL spread again today.
For this one I thought I would try and use some square pics like they suggest over at life paper scrapbook.
I didn't do them all square, I thought that might look strange so just a couple on each page.

Have a great day

Bold with Gold..

Even thought it's really trendy right now I didn't know if I could deal with the gold thing. I have always been a silver girl, actually the only gold things I have are my engagement and wedding rings.

I'm slowly warming up to it.... I watched a video over at 2 peas by Lilith which I thought was awesome and decided to give it a try. The video is from the 213 in 2013 series and I will link you up here. I also saw a scrap your stash video by Jen that was all about gold and if you wanted to catch that you can see it here.

So lilith's 5 prompts were:

Make it horizontal
Bold with Gold
Three layered clusters
5 photos
book paper

Here is my page:

Supplies: Maggie Holmes Flea Market papers - Antique, Collectable & Ellie, Ephemera , Fabric Frames.
Thickers - Dear Lizzy - Treasure

Project Life update....

I was so behind with my PL. We were away in Bali for five weeks and then out of our home (for repairs) for another two and after that long it takes a bit of commitment to catch up. I remember when I first started I was kind of anal about not getting behind and always just having last week to do. As I got more comfortable I actually found it easier to work with two weeks at once.

The one benefit of the children having the chicken pox in the school holidays was that we were home... the entire time... all day every day. So I did get a bit of time to work on it and a wonderful blessing of PL is that you can work a little on this pocket and that pocket, you don't lose your mojo if you leave in the middle of it, like you sometimes do with a 12 x 12. You can do a little bit and make a sandwich for child A, do a bit and find that DVD for child B, finish a bit before you read the library books with child C.

Anyways, the good news is I am caught up! I am relieved as PL is not something I want to feel stressed about. I am just sharing a random week here, I am not going to go all the way back.

The month we don't celebrate Halloween...

Hi guys...

Don't get me wrong I actually don't have anything against Halloween but since we never celebrated it growing up it just doesn't mean anything to me. So we have never celebrated it...and I just can't be bothered going there despite several of my friends being participants.  It made me laugh the other day when the Disney channel switched over it's monthly theme to Halloween and I heard Olivia sign and say "Oh October, the month we don't celebrate Halloween". Poor deprived child. She'll survive.

Anyways I saw over at 2peas a video done by Jill Sprott you can find it here if you are interested. She did this great page filled with memories of costumes. So I couldn't do a Halloween theme, but I did have a bunch of leftover holiday pics that I didn't end up using in my Project Life.

So this is what I came up with....

Happy Saturday everyone

October Sketch Challenge

Another day, another challenge....

I saw this sketch challenge over at life.paper.scrapbook so I gave it a go, it's such a straight forward sketch so it came together easily.

I did have to flip it because of my photo orientation but I like how it came out.
I made my own background with some modeling paste and paints.

If you know me, you know I love everything fifth and frolic and the only thing better than the collection is then giving this addict an entire Project Life kit in it. I adore that kit and I am going to use every single piece, sounds impossible but I think I'm up for it. This capture the moments card is one from that kit and I was saving it for a 12x12. These photos of Gia are dear to my heart, I love how she loves her toys, she looks right in their eyes and then pulls them in for a real cuddle. Love that and didn't want to forget it.

Hope the sun is shining where you are...

Creative Scrappers Sketch Challenge 252

Hi guys...

These school holidays have been challenging... we are on round two of the chicken pox, the two smaller ones now.  The well child is so tired of being on house arrest and so am I.

I'm trying to hold onto the sanity... thank goodness for scrapbooking and playhouse disney.
I saw this great sketch by Jenny Evans over at Creative Scrappers and thought I would give it a go.

So here is the sketch:

Here is my page...

A great mishmash of products here, I basically just rummaged through my scraps bin for anything that would work and it pretty much all went on. I had that teal arrow diecut laying around, that was rather convenient. I have actually used the backside of it as a mask for ink but you can't tell. Loving my new skipping5 puffy stickers.
This Maggie Holmes dreamy paper is a favourite, I'm trying to be brave and just use my favourites.

This challenge still has loads of time... so pop on over to Creative Scrappers and give it a go.

I better go assess some rainy day activities... the Doc McStuffins theme song is permanently stuck in my head, clearly we need a break from that!

Have a fab day

Colour Challenge Tuesday...

Looking for a challenge... looking for a challenge....
Found one! Look at this awesome challenge over at life.paper.scrapbook.
The one they had for this month looked like this....

Fun huh! I didn't actually know if I would  have the right shades but rummaged through my papers and came up with this selection...

So not bad really... most of it is pretty old, Do you see that foofala paper? that didn't make the cut but man that stuff is old and I still love it. I have been doing so much pastel lately this was a welcome change. Anyways on with the page...

Lots of favourites on here, I love that October Afternoon travel paper, I think it's hong kong, from the boarding pass collection.  I've loved it and hoarded it and hooray it has actually made it onto a page. The diecuts (hello and the yellow one behind) were floating around my desk as rejects from another page... so they were happy they got selected this time.

Used a Project Life card from the Jade core kit to journal on. Flair is Evalicious. Excuse the interesting cropping, the computer is fixed but my photoshop is not done yet. It does actually have a slightly larger black border.

Thanks for dropping by...
have a fab day
