Project Life - 3 weeks in one post deal

I'm posting several Project Life weeks this week. I am enjoying PL a ridiculous amount!
It is so suited to my chaotic lifestyle right now.

Week of 7th May

I loved how this week turned out, I think my favourite part was the playdate one from the first page and maybe the story one from the second page. I love my cameo and am using it for so many PL related things (on this spread I used it on the May title, the arrow filler and the story journal spot). Is anyone else finding the vertical inserts are sliding out of the pockets? At this point I am stapling them in to hold them but if anyone has any bright ideas let me know.

Close up's below:

Week of 14th May

I decided to try a page with the 6x6 pockets for this week and I really liked it, I didn't think I was going to but it really did work for some of the things I wanted to cover. It just gave me a bit more room.

My favourite this week was the Friday cross country run, I managed to get a pic of my daughter and of her friends and then her 5th place ticket in the little folder (this would normally have gotten lost in the pile of "must keeps"). It still gives me such a thrill when I have it in and done. It's so nice for the children too, they have been able to show friends and family what they have been doing lately, not six months down the road when Mum gets around to scrapbooking it.

Week of 21st May

And my last share for this week, I'm going to be caught up posting in no time as this rate!
I used my cameo a heap this week, I swear I use that thing like it's my job. I am so happy that I love it as much as I do, I wanted one for so long.

My favourite for this week is the dinosaur art one, the box-o-saurus from Kinder. Sometimes being the geeky parent that brings her camera in is worth it.

If you have noticed the pocket each week that has been numbered week one etc, that is a challenge I'm taking part in that runs for nine weeks, it's been great to document that, something I would not normally do.

I hope you are all having a fab day, it's just me and GG today, the big's have gone to my parents for a few days since it's the holidays and it's glorious! I am still a bit sick but I am actually getting a little rest. The house is so quiet and I am really enjoying being able to finish a thought and go to the bathroom without an interruption, I know you're jealous!

Hope the sun is shining where you are

Project Life Insert

I'm hoping that tomorrow when we wake up we will all be magically well. Two weeks of this flu has been quite enough, poor GG woke up today and has felt rubbish all day. I just want to take it away but all I can do is hold her.

Today I thought I would share one of my inserts I have done for Project Life. I had two particular events on top of our normal week I wanted to cover. The first was Liv's learning celebration at school, her class was leading it. It amazes me what five year old's can do if given the chance. Liv had two parts to play, she read out her information report on snails and she participated in her jump jam dance group. Such a special day for her. (Excuse the pixelated faces of her classmates)

The second side of the insert is a family lunch we had while my in-laws were down visiting before my BIL and SIL went back to England (same weekend). This side was super quick because it was so photo heavy.

I just feel so satisfied, not only did I get that week done but I also got the extras done! woohoo!
I have a few weeks to catch up now, because of the flu, but I am confident that I can do it as long as I keep jotting down the info, life is always going to get in the way.

Hope you're having a fab weekend!

Project Life....

So I've jumped feet first into Project Life. I do love my 12x12 but a part of me feels like I am missing the stories. I am a pretty regular journaler but I still wasn't happy. It's not the big epic stories, the life changers, it's all the little stuff, the details of our life. A little note, a little thought, a little question.  So I started the last week of April, I know weird timing, but you know what's great,  no pressure, no big oh I've started this year long commitment, nope none of that. I don't have any Project Life core kits nothin. I got some WRMK page protectors from my local and a friend gave me a  bunch of the bazzill ones. Thanks Bee! I don't even have an album, they're just floating around with some metal rings holding them together.

So I went through my scraps and cut a whole lot to 6x4 and 3x4 and it's kinda thrilling. All these tidbits I have wanted to use, that's why I kept them right. And I still like them but they didn't have much chance of making it onto a page up against newer supplies. It's exciting to me to use up anything super old. Also other supplies, stickers, stamps, embellishments, some small that get lost on a 12x12 are great for PL.

I'm surprised at how addictive it is and I'm surpristed at how it makes me look at life differently. I jot down a whole lot more stuff now, knowing I have a place to put it and it's not going to make the big pile of unscrapped misc notes and memorabilia larger.

I don't print at home but I have worked out a little system. I try and edit my photos Sunday night, during the week I just dump the odd photo into the PL folder. I don't worry if I didn't get a photo I will still cover the subject. Then Monday morning I take the bigs to school and kinder and GG and I go and get the photos printed. Once I have the photos it all comes together really quick.

So this was my first week, I am just going to load them up when I can and not worry about being current...

Must go, still have a house full of sick people
Have a fab day

A challenge of sorts....

I'm still all about the challanges at the moment, it is so much easier for me to have a starting off point, otherwise I could sit and stare at the kraft cardstock for a crazy amount of time. I have been taking part in the Stars in your Eyes competition over at Scrappin Patch and it's been interesting.

The idea is they have a new star every week and you are to do something in their style. You know what I've found? It's actually quite hard for me to do something not in my own style. The other thing is, I'm not going to make something for a competition that I don't want in my album, that I don't love. I need it to still have story, the journalling is so important to me. So I seem to have learnt more about me than anything.

These are a few of the pages I have done so far....

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are today

The rest of my NSD layouts...

So I completed a bunch more layouts for the 2peas challenges.
This is what I got done...

The first challenge was a colour inspiration, you could either go with their combo or find a combination of things around your house to inspire you. So I gathered up a few bits and pieces ...

and so this was my layout I came up with.

This page was for Challenge #4 - Continue the Morph

This card was for Challenge #7 - Using Polaroids

This page was for Challenge #8 - Beneath the layer (Using the negetive)

This page was for Challenge #5 - Using bright colours

and lastly this was for Challenge #6 - Play with Confetti

Sorry for the super long post, I just knew if I didn't get them up all at once I wouldn't do it!
Have a great day

NSD extended...

I really wanted to participate in NSD this year. I didn't know of any crops happening and in reality I couldn't be gone all day with breastfeeding the baby anyways. But I really wanted to get involved. I figured Two Peas would have something going, I do find being in a different time zone a little tricky for these things, especially things like chats etc. But the list of challenges was great.

Then I started receiving email challenges from Big Picture and their challenges were awesome too! Then I heard Studio Calico's challenges were interesting so I popped over there. Can we all say Overwhelmed! Overwhelmed with goodness though. So I did the logical thing and thought well which one closes first, that's how I'll do it. So Big Pictures closed on the Sunday so I got two layouts done for there. I could have done a bunch more if I had a little more time. Studio Calico and Two Peas did allow more time which is awesome.

So enough blabbing on...

I did this page for Challenge #2 at Big Picture, it's a challenge from Ali Edwards - Grab a photo from a few years back and a photo from today and tell a story about the way things are different or the same.

This is a page I have wanted to do for a long time and it fitted the challenge perfectly.

And for Challenge #7 - Create a layout using three colors that are found next to each other on the color wheel. I must say too that uploading for a challenge at Big Picture is super easy - I really liked that.

I haven't posted to any of the other challenges yet but I will share my layouts when I do.
Hope your having a fab day

Party all night long...

Those drain/sewage/cctv guys who are parking outside my bedroom window every second night with loud grinding noises and flashing lights are really cramping my already broken sleep schedule. Phew I am pretty tired. When I fantasise about being up late and having a social life again, this is not what I meant. I hope they sort it soon, it's been going on for a long while now. So if I don't make much sense, don't judge, just go with "she is super sleep deprived".

I got some photos printed and now I can finally scrapbook a few pages of the baby. I have purposely delayed printing them to make myself finish off some photos that I was being a bit slack about. So I did my first one of GG, Sissy 2 did manage to smush herself into a photo too. Poor baby, not only does she have to try and hold that head up, she has to hold the big ones head too!

I used mainly Girl's Paperie on this but I was pretty thrilled to whip some heidi swapp tape on there, man that stuff is old. I am trying to work something old onto every layout at the moment and it's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Now to the opposite of super old, is exciting and new! YAY!
I did this page using my new 6x6 Studio Calico pad - I think it's Classic Calico 2. I so enjoyed this one and it came together so fast, pleased to have this birthday done as she has another this month!

Oh and I got this title from the Silhouette store last week on clearance, Bargain! I do want to get a subscription but I will wait for a sale and just get what I need for now. I am loving this machine and I think I have used it on every layout since I have purchased it.

I'm off to try and get something done now, I'm hoping to get a couple of  Mother's day cards finished up, wish me luck and any energetic vibes gratefully accepted.
Have a great night
